Ryan Cao joins TKL

TKL welcomes PhD graduate student Ryan Cao to the lab!

Reena is a Ph.D. student in the Bioengineering department at UCLA. He earned his B.E. in Bioengineering from Northwest A&F University in Shaanxi, China, and spent his senior year as an exchange student at UC Riverside. He then continued at UC Riverside for his master’s degree, where his research focused on developing CRISPR-based biosensors for plant disease detection. At UCLA, his work expands to creating CRISPR biosensors for a broader range of pathogens and organisms. Outside the lab, Ryan enjoys traveling, cooking, working out, and exploring new experiences.
